The Floating BedTM is a suspended round bed with adjustable tension achieved through a series of interlaced woven rope webbing. Technical Information:
The stainless steel hoop that creates the round bed structure of The Floating BedTM is laced with high-tech rope (spun polyester) cording that can be adjusted to fit the perfect tension for any user. Both 7' 6" and 8' round diameter beds are available, the smaller size is better for a smaller room and has less “swing movement.” The hoops have two hinged joints and two insert joints, for easy assembly, disassembly, and transport. The stainless steel can be covered with a fabric cover over the hoop tube, with a foam lining underneath for cushioning.
The Floating Bed combines the best of a round bed and hammock. Many unique features are covered by patents pending. The hinges allow you to take it out of the box and set it up in minutes, once a suitable hanging ring is installed. Where can I use it?

Can my ceiling hold it?
No problem. All ceilings have joist beams that can easily support the round bed, Floating Bed and its inhabitants. We have instructions and ceiling hardware to distribute the weight.
What if I don’t want to hang it on the ceiling?
No problem. We also have 4-pod stands, for fixed yard use, or portable use for the round bed, Floating Bed.
How strong is it?
Strong enough to easily hold 6 or more adults in the round bed.
Will the motion bother me?
That’s one of the many reasons people want it. For most people, the motion is very relaxing. In fact, after a few nights use, the question we usually get is, “How can I make it rock more?”
Safety considerations?
Most people will easily get onto and out of the round, Floating Bed. It’s ergonomically designed for height and swing, so that it “invites” you in with its swing. Now, you might not want to get it for someone with disabilities that limit their range of motion, for people who experience vertigo, or for someone who regularly goes to bed after taking a sleeping pill or excessive alcohol. Other than that, if you can easily get in and out of a swing, you’ll be able to hop in and out of the Floating Bed.
Outdoor Usage And Customization Of The Floating Bed-Round Bed:

The Floating Bed is a round bed that can be suspended from a the ceiling of any deck, a tree limb, or any beam or structure. All you need is a single structural point above the ground for the round bed.
Portable Unit: A lighter weight collapsible 4-pod can also be used, so the combination can be carried and used as a roundcamping bed. It can have mosquito net on the cascade lines, and/or a tent cover can be attached to the round bed. For example, the 4-pod suspended floating, round bed with tent cover looks something like a hanging teepee.
We can provide a below-ceiling mounting ring plate to attach to your ceiling, joists, or available beam or structural member. If you have access to attic or room above, you may choose a mounting plate above the ceiling joists. We have instructions on many mounting options. Call or email for details.
Floating Bed stylistic options:
- We make both 7' 6" and 8' diameter round beds. The hoops have 2 hinged joints and 2 insert joints, for easy assembly, disassembly, and transport.
- If you have enough room, you'll want the 8' round bed, unless you plan to use it in a smaller space sometimes.
- There are 2 hoop finish options. You may choose simple classic stainless steel, or we can add a fabric cover over the round bed hoop tube (with a foam lining underneath for cushioning).
- So if you like the brighter metal look, or anticipate some outdoor use, get stainless, but if you want a warmer softer look, then we'll put the cover on it. We have a number of fabric varieties to choose from that is indoor and outdoor weather proof.
- Net vs fabric mat: The net looks cooler, and is usually preferred for outdoor use.
The mat requires less upkeep, since it doesn’t stretch. When you call we can explain your options to you personally in detail. Custom designs and combinations are possible.
- Net:
The net stretches, which makes it a great support system, but it requires occasional tightening on the round bed.
Outdoors, the net is usually more comfortable due to the breeze flowing through. It also sheds water more quickly.
The unadorned net is ok for resting a short time, or for those who are so inclined. Otherwise a padding method is really comfortable, such as a round sheepskin, certain round rugs, blankets, or 1-2" of foam. We sell a memory foam round mattress, custom made to fit, that is ideal.
- Mat:
The fabric mat won't stretch, so it has lower maintenance. If you completely cover it with our round mattress, then use sheets or other complete coverings then the mat is ok, because you won't ever see it anyway (except when you look underneath the bed). It requires less padding than the net.

Other customization options:
The round Floating Bed can be made / adjusted for nearly any ceiling or hanging height. Taller height means a greater swing distance, if space is available.
If the room or space is small and there is scant wall clearance or swing distance available, you can get our adjustable elastic tether, to limit the range of motion of your round bed.
