How many times have you heard the phrase hanging bed? Yet when have you ever actually seen one? We worked out the problems of bringing this mythical ideal bed to the world, and I patented the design of the worlds best hanging bed. Why?
I like sleeping. I enjoy relaxing. I like being gently rocked. In fact, I really like a lot of activities that take place in the bed. But I cant say I really love beds. So I decided to do something about it. I thought, "What would the ideal bed look like, feel like, and what would it do? What benefits would it provide?"
What features would make someone really LOVE their bed?
So, I ask the question, Whats wrong with beds, & hammocks?
Beds create no real psychological state of rest and relaxation. Theyre just a boring place to lie down.
They dont provide any healthy motion (see benefits).
Hammocks have an entire list of problems. (But the idea of a hammock looks so great
)
Hammocks are unstable, and people fall out, because they have a high center of gravity, which is a bad design principle. You can't hang them in most rooms. They have very limited back-and-forth swinging in one plane, and their motion is not nearly as pleasant or soothing as the True Pendulum Motion provided by The Floating Bed.
The hammock inventors forgot other things. They put spreader bars on the ends, but why did they forget to put them on the sides? Because hammocks have no continuous perimeter support, they have sagging nets. This isnt good for your back. Hammocks are barely usable even for one, and are mostly awful for two persons. Three or more is, of course, out of the question, practically speaking.
Asking,What if you could have an ideal "hammock," that was great for everything, we bred the bed and the ideal hammock. But we didnt stop with one or two refinements. We wanted this device to really work, and to be so great, that nearly everyone would fall in love with it, and want one. And we want users to be really happy with it, year after year.
Over time, The Floating Bed evolved. Its form follows its function, a design principle used in most of the truly great things in the world. We now have two patents pending on the device, with over 30 separate claims on various aspects of the invention cited as new and unique. You'll notice many important details that have been worked out, once you use it. The overhead suspension, the sturdy hoop and tight, flat net, the cordlock adjustable cascade lines (quickly adjust height & angle), the sheet tuck-in feature, and many more design refinements are the result of a lot of attention and testing. They all contribute to a great, unique experience, and a product so new and different that you will be eager to get in it and spend some quality time. Your friends will have the same feeling too, if you feel like inviting them to join you. Its simply a great place to hang out together.
The picture outlines a bit of the story, like a preview. Getting in one, though, is like being in the movie.
John Huff, the inventor, has created many new and useful products. (For example, see http://www.huffloudspeaker.com for his line of high end Stereo / Home Theater speakers.)
